Mystery/Thriller. Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror. Romance/Erotica Unsettling, unremitting and psychologically stark, Klara and the Sun has all the hallmarks of a traditional Ishiguro novel. Dealing with his familiar themes of loss and love and the question of what makes us human, the book follows the "life" of an Artificial Friend (AF) called Klara, taken from her store of robot compatriots and left to navigate the complex world of human emotions.

Såååååååå snygg! Review by Klara on 27 May 2019 review stating Såååååååå snygg! Känner mig så stark och snygg i denna jacka. Bra på alla sätt.
Dealing with his familiar themes of loss and love and the question of what makes us human, the book follows the "life" of an Artificial Friend (AF) called Klara, taken from her store of robot compatriots and left to navigate the complex world of human emotions. Klara as naive narrator can be especially irritating (was I supposed to be charmed by her innocence?) with her faith in the Sun as a benign god-like entity who gives 'nourishment', her pixelating vision at moments of data overload when everything becomes 'boxes', her use of the term 'oblong' to denote phones/tablets - and what kind of programming has she had that she doesn't understand a sink Never Let Me Go was a superb ethical and moral tale dressed up as science fiction, and the whole world was thought through.

A review of the new novel ‘Klara and the Sun,’ by Kazuo Ishiguro. The book is about a robot designed to be a friend to children who becomes entwined in the emotional lives of the humans around Review: 'Klara And The Sun,' By Kazuo Ishiguro Kazuo Ishiguro's lovely, mournful new novel is set in a world where children can have android companions, known as Artificial Friends — but can Whilst Klara and the Sun is undoubtedly a strong work – Ishiguro has led us to expect nothing less – it is not the Nobel Prize recipient’s best. It lacks the emotional intensity of The Buried Giant, the meticulous narrative drive of Never Let Me Go and the masterful commingling of both that is The Remains of the Day. The titular narrator of Klara and the Sun, Kazuo Ishiguro’s new novel, is a robot. This isn’t spoiler—this revelation comes early in the book.
